11/8/14 A Jaunt to Valley of the Gods.

I am still learning how to relax and slow down, and hanging here at Goosenecks has been a huge help in that regard. The view is incredible, I have very awesome neighbors, the weather is stellar, and I have excellent 3g service. It is hard to argue with that combo. So I was chatting with a friend on Facebook and said I was definitely just sitting around at least another day. Not 5 minutes later, I was like, I need to go for a ride!! So I stowed the solar panels, pulled all the rocks out from under the wheels, and left. One nice thing about being small is I just can't have that much stuff out to put away, and I have putting up the panels down to where it takes less than 10 minutes. I'll time it tomorrow, I timed putting them out today and it was under 4 minutes.
I have awesome neighbors from Canada here, and they have a cool site. Someone before them made this stone spiral. Pretty neat!

They have a pretty nice firepit too.

While not as large as the much more famous Monument Valley, this gorgeous place is 100% free to drive through, camp and explore. You can't beat that.

I came close to camping here, but there was way more traffic than I expected even though it was a Sat night, and the dust was just out of control. I'm sure it would have died down after dark, but I was in the mood to go back to Goosenecks, and that's what I did.

This was a steeper downhill than it looks. I started to slide a little when I stopped, hence the hurried snap!

I got back to the park and parked closer to the CG this time as I was being lazy. I didn't take the panels down as I was convinced I was leaving in the AM. Didn't happen......

  1. Oh my gosh Gail, passing your beautiful pictures I find myself looking for the like button. They're all amazing. You really need to talk to the peeps at National Geographic. ..maybe they'd buy some from you. You are one seriously tough cookie. Enjoy the journey that's for taking us along. Be safe - Amy Keeler
